Currency Exchange
The official currency in Sri Lanka is Sri Lankan rupees. International credit cards are accepted by almost all hotels, many other shops including grocery super markets. Money exchange can be done from the bank counters at the airport arrival lounge.
Travelling from the Airport to Hotel
Booking a taxi, reserving a hotel room and obtaining tourist information can all be done on arrival at the lobby at Colombo International Airport before you step into the country. The journey from the airport to the city of Colombo takes about 30-45 min by taxi. You can also arrange these before you travel. Most travel information sites (Eg: Trip Adviser) will guide you on selection of hotel accommodation.
