Dr. Bawantha Gamage, Consultant Surgeon and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medical Sciences delivered the prestigious AMASI (Association of the Minimal Access Surgeons of India) oration at the Annual Academic sessions of the Association of Surgeons of India on 29^th December 2018 in Chennai India.

Dr. Bawantha Gamage, being a Fellow of AMASI, is the first Sri Lankan surgeon to deliver this oration. The title of the oration was "Laparoscopy": Is it a Panacea for all abdominal surgeries?
