WORKSHOP ON PANCREASE TRANSPLANTATION
Organ Transplant Unit of Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital together with the, Sri Lanka Society of Nephrologists and Sri Lanka College of Endocrinologists in collaboration with resource personnel from Hammersmith Campus of Imperial College of London and Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura conducted a Pancrease Transplantation surgical workshop on pancrease retrieval and benching with hands-on training on human cadavers on the 26th of January 2018 from 8 am to 12 noon at Dissection Hall 02 at Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medical Sciences. Prof David Taube, Professor of Transplant Medicine and Consultant Nephrologist, UK, Prof Nick Oliver, Professor of Human Metabolism and Consultant Endocrinologist, UK, Dr. Neill Duncan, Consultant Nephrologist and Hon. Sr. Lecturer, Imperial College, London, Dr. Anand Muthusamy, Consultant Surgeon & Hon. Sr. Lecturer, Imperial College, London, Dr. Sanjay Sinha, Consultant Transplant Surgeon, Oxford Transplant Centre, UK, Dr. Chula Herath, Consultant Nephrologist, Dr. Dimutu Muthukuda, Consultant Endocrinologist, Dr. Chamila Pilimatalawwe, Consultant Anesthetists & Intensivist, Dr. Chinthana Gakahitiyawa, Consultant nephrologist and Dr. Niroshan Seneviratne, Consultant Urologist and Transplant Surgeon participated the course as the faculty. Prof. S.G. Yasewardene, Dr. P.H. Dissanayake and Dr. Sajith Edirisinghe participated as the resource personals from Department of Anatomy.
