COMMUNITY BASED MEDICAL LEARNING (CBML) PROGRAMME 2016
Community Based Medical Learning (CBML) Programme 2016 is scheduled to be held from 16th to 24th October 2016 in Kaluthara District.
Community Based Medical Learning (CBML) programme of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura focuses on student training in a rural setting to empower the medical graduates to work in under privileged areas with minimal resources providing quality health care to rural communities. It is also aimed at developing a favorable attitude among students on patient care, social justice and accountability, ethics, social and cultural harmony and gender equity. It will provide the opportunity for students to learn about rural health care system and how it is administered along with the life style of the people, their limited social and financial resources, their practices and ultimately their expectations from a medical professional.
Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura introduced CBML programme in to the undergraduate curriculum in 2006 and has been conducted successfully since then.
